About me

Hi, I'm Barbora.

A Czech mum of three, home educator and trained doula. When I'm not with my children or sharing my love of motherhood and the postpartum time, you'll find me in the garden, foraging, learning a new skill or chatting to my chickens.

My story

Why I do this work, in three chapters.

01

Far from home

Over a decade ago I moved from the Czech Republic to Scotland, far from family and friends. When my first daughter was born I was on my own, recovering from a traumatic birth while my husband worked long hours. I developed postnatal depression and severe back pain, and I reached a very dark place.

02

Learning what real care looks like

During my doula training and third pregnancy, I finally planned for the postpartum period, not just the birth: childcare, meals, herbal support, and honest conversations with my husband and friends about what I needed. It made an immense difference. My body healed, and I felt strong and well.

03

Why I share this

Paid doula support isn't within reach for everyone. So I share what I've learned, to help you create your own support network and care for yourself, so your family can learn to support you too.

You deserve to be cared for, dear mama.
